MP Kartracing Shines with Gorski’s P4 at the FIA World Karting Championship in Kristianstad
Last weekend the 2025 Mondokart.com FIA Karting World Championship took place at the Åsum Ring in Kristianstad, Sweden (11–14 September). With over 200 of the world’s best young drivers across OK and OK-Junior, the event was a true test of pace, consistency, and resilience. MP Kartracing achieved it’s best result of the season, showing they can peek when it counts.
Gorski fly’s to P4 in OK-Junior
The highlight of the weekend came in the OK-Junior class, where Leonardo Gorski fought through the heats and climbed the order to finish an impressive P4 in the World Final. He even won a heat, which was a first for the team this season.
Against a field of more than 100 international competitors, Gorski’s performance stood out not only for his speed but also for his composure under pressure. Coming just short of a podium, in the final. He started P5, after which he dropped a few places at the start. However he climbed the ladder breaking away from the following group to places two, three and four. Noah Baglin was able to slip away in the chaotic opening phase and was unreachable from that point. Onces arriving in the podium battle the fight was on with pole sitter Dean Hoogendorn and Valerio Viapiana. Gorski just came short in the end after a great battle, but still came cheering across the finish line after 21 laps. Just as the team. Great job to them for this amazing result at the highest karting stage of the world.
OK Class: Competitive but Challenging
In the OK category, MP Kartracing fielded drivers Jason Bralić, Jorn Helder, Carl Luthardt, and Eemeli Koivisto. Qualifying sessions showed flashes of competitiveness — with Bralić and Luthardt both posting times in the 49.6 second range, but the depth of the field meant that even small margins made progression difficult.
Despite strong efforts in the heats, none of the OK drivers managed to advance to the decisive stages. The team reflected afterwards that the results didn’t fully reflect their pace or effort throughout the weekend.
Looking Ahead
While the OK results left the team hungry for more, Leonardo Gorski’s near-podium in OK-Junior proved that MP Kartracing can challenge the best in the world. The team leaves Sweden motivated, determined, and with renewed confidence heading into the next international events and big plans for the upcoming season.
