MP Drivers Kick Off ITQ Performance Programme with Training Camp in the Netherlands
At the end of February, MP Motorsport officially launched the ITQ Performance Programme, a new training programme designed to support the physical and mental development of drivers across karting, Formula 4, F1 Academy and Eurocup-3. For the first training camp, a total of 12 drivers from the MP Motorsport family came together for an intensive week.
Mental Performance Sessions in Westmaas and Delden
The programme began with an introduction at MP Motorsport’s workshop in Westmaas, where the drivers were introduced to the goals of the ITQ Performance Programme. It kicked off with two sessions delivered by RUOTA SupPORT, an organisation specialised in coaching and development programmes for teams and individuals in sport and business.
During the first session, the drivers worked on understanding themselves better and identifying their behavioural preferences by taking a personality analysis. Before travelling to Enschede for the next part of the programme, the drivers received meals from Topsport Amsterdam, an organisation that supports elite athletes and talent with facilities and coaching. The meals provided the drivers with the right nutritional values ahead of the next part of the programme.
The drivers then travelled to Aparthotel Delden, a hotel, located in the east of the Netherlands, fully equipped to accommodate elite sports teams. Here, the team stayed for the entirety of the training camp.
Physical Testing and Training at Pro-F
After the session at Aparthotel Delden, the drivers travelled to MP Motorsport’s partner Pro-F in Enschede. A performance centre specialised in physical testing and training using advanced measurement technology.
At Pro-F the drivers completed a full-day programme of physical testing. Under the supervision of sports professionals, each driver worked through parts of their own individual fitness programme, completing several tests. One of the tests included an endurance bike test with sensors attached to the body, conducted by OCON Sport, allowing specialists to monitor physical indicators such as oxygen levels during the effort.
Team-Building Activities
On the final day of the programme, the drivers took part in several activities. The group went mountain biking, partly in snowy conditions, and also participated in a freerun workshop. A fun way to conclude an intense few days together.
A New Step in the ITQ Performance Partnership
The ITQ Performance Programme is part of the multi-year partnership between MP Motorsport and international cloud service provider ITQ, which acts as the title sponsor of the programme. The programme is designed for MP drivers competing in karting, Formula 4, F1 Academy and Eurocup-3 and aims to strengthen both the physical strength and mental resilience of drivers in these championships.
Following the training camp, the programme will continue throughout the season with online coaching, workshops and progress checks, while a second training camp is planned later in the year.
