Encouraging Start to the WSK Season for MP Kartracing Team

The start of the 2026 international karting season saw MP Kartracing Team compete in several early rounds of the WSK championships in Italy. Racing in the highly competitive OK and OKJ categories, the opening events of the season provided valuable experience and promising performances as the team continues to build momentum. Across the first races of the year, the focus has been on development, learning more about the kart package and improving execution race by race.

Season Kick-Off at La Conca

The season began with the opening round of the WSK Super Master Series at La Conca, where MP Kartracing Team showed encouraging pace throughout the weekend despite some challenging timed qualifying sessions.

In the OK category, Henry Domain led the charge for the team. He showed strong speed during the heats, finishing P3, P5 and another P5 on track before a post-race penalty dropped one of those results to P11. A later DNF affected his overall heats ranking and prevented him from starting near the front of the Pre-Final.

Henry responded well on Sunday, climbing six places to finish P4 in the Pre-Final before gaining eight more positions in the Final to finish P10, underlining the potential shown during the opening weekend of the season.

Across the rest of the squad, several drivers showed determination and continued to fight through the field in highly competitive conditions.

Challenging Conditions in Viterbo

The team returned to Italy for the next WSK events at Leopard Circuit Viterbo, where drivers competed in difficult weather conditions during the WSK Euro Series round. The weekend saw heavy rain affect several sessions, with the OKJ Pre-Final even being stopped due to torrential rainfall. Despite the conditions, MP drivers continued to show competitive pace.

In the OK category, Nicola Stanley finished just outside the podium, while Lenni Mäkinen and Christian Coby both fought their way forward through the field in the OKJ category. The following WSK Super Master Series round at Viterbo focused largely on development, with the team continuing to refine the setup and build experience for the races ahead.

Progress in Lonato

Round four of the WSK Super Master Series took place at South Garda Karting in Lonato, one of the most iconic circuits in international karting. The event once again attracted a very large international field, with around 400 drivers competing across the different categories.

MP Kartracing Team showed clear progress throughout the weekend. Four OK drivers qualified for the Final, with Henry Domain battling at the front during the weekend and securing a heat victory on Saturday. Other drivers also demonstrated strong pace, including an impressive recovery drive from Peter, who moved from P22 to P10 in the Pre-Final, highlighting the speed within the team.

Looking Ahead

The opening WSK events of the season have highlighted both the challenges and the potential within MP Kartracing Team. While there are still areas to improve in terms of execution, progress has been visible from race to race. With drivers and engineers continuing to learn more about the karts and refine the setup, the team looks ahead to the upcoming rounds of the season with confidence and determination.
