MP Kartracing Team Opens International Campaign with Strong Pace at La Conca

MP Kartracing Team launched an important phase of its 2026 season at the World Circuit La Conca in Muro Leccese, Italy, where the opening rounds of the Champions of the Future Euro Series and the FIA Karting European Championship brought together some of the strongest OK and OK-Junior grids in world karting.

Coming into La Conca, MP Kartracing Team was already building momentum through the early part of the year. The team’s start to 2026 was encouraging, with visible progress across the opening WSK rounds and a clear focus on learning, refining the kart package, and improving execution race by race.

The first stop in this double-header was the opening round of the 2026 Champions of the Future Euro Series, held at La Conca from April 2 to 4. The weekend was shaped by changing conditions, with rain and mixed grip levels early on before a dry finals day reset the competitive order.

During the Champions of the Future weekend, MP showed competitive pace across both events. In the OK category, Henry Domain was the team’s standout performer, qualifying 8th overall, progressing to 2nd in the intermediate classification, and starting the Final from 6th before finishing 11th. In the same category, Mika Runitz qualified 41st, Luuk Taal 59th, Peter Stiller 60th, Nicola Stanley 67th, and Yves Ris 76th. In OK-Junior, Lenni Mäkinen qualified 24th overall. In the Champions of the Future event one week earlier, MP also showed promising form, with Henry Domain finishing 16th in OK, while Lenni Mäkinen took 13th in OK-Junior after qualifying 6th on the opening day.

In the opening round of the FIA Karting European Championship, MP Kartracing Team fielded a strong line-up in OK with Henry Domain, Mika Runitz, Luuk Taal, Peter Stiller, Nicola Stanley, and Yves Ris, while Lenni Mäkinen represented the team in OK-Junior. In qualifying, Henry Domain delivered the team’s strongest OK performance by placing 8th overall with a lap of 46.562, putting himself firmly in contention at the front of the field. Behind him, Mika Runitz qualified 41st, Luuk Taal 59th, Peter Stiller 60th, Nicola Stanley 67th, and Yves Ris 76th. In OK-Junior, Lenni Mäkinen placed 24th overall in qualifying with a best lap of 48.693.

Domain continued that strong form through the FIA weekend and secured the team’s best result of the event in the OK Final, where he crossed the line in 11th place after starting from the front half of the grid. In a field of nearly 100 drivers, it was a competitive and encouraging result that underlined the progress both driver and team are making at this level.

Taken as a whole, the first rounds of Champions of the Future and the FIA European Karting Championship gave MP Kartracing Team a productive and promising start to this next stage of the season. The team leaves La Conca with important experience, encouraging speed, and a solid benchmark to build on in the coming rounds. With competitive pace already visible in qualifying and a strong top-11 finish in the FIA OK category, MP Kartracing Team can look ahead to the rest of the campaign with confidence.
